GMAT Registration

In order to register for the GMAT, the individual applying to take the exam should schedule a testing date with Pearson VUE online through the Masters of Business Administration (MBA) website, by contacting GMAT customer service by phone, or by faxing or mailing in the registration form. Anyone over the age of 13 is eligible to take the GMAT, but individuals under the age of 18 must send in a form signed by a parent or legal guardian in order to be eligible to take the exam. It is also important to note that many graduate programs have other requirements in addition to the GMAT, which individuals under the age of 18 may not be able to fulfill.

The registration fee for the GMAT is currently $250, but there may be additional fees associated with the exam as well. These fees include, but are not limited to charges that the individual might incur if he or she needs to reschedule his or her testing date or if the individual want the scores sent to additional locations. The rescheduling fee for the exam is currently $50 as long as the individual reschedules his or her testing date at least 8 days prior to the original date that the exam was scheduled. If the individual reschedules the exam within 7 days of the exam, the individual will have to pay the full registration fee again in order to reschedule the exam. If the individual decides that he or she needs to cancel his or her testing date, it is possible to receive a partial refund if the individual cancels his or her testing date at least 8 days prior to the original date that the exam was scheduled. The current amount that will be refunded if the individual cancels at least 8 days prior to the exam is $80, but the remaining $170 is non-refundable. If the individual cancels within 7 days of the exam, however, the individual will not receive any refund. If the individual would like to report his or her score to more than five graduate programs or if the individual did not indicate which programs he or she would like the score sent to at the time of the exam, the fee for additional reports is $28 per report. As a result of these additional fees, it is possible that the exam may cost an individual more than $250 depending on the specific situation.
